Desenzano del Garda is a perfect base to visit the Lower Benaco, which offers many enchanting corners starting from the nearby and elegant Sirmione, then move on to Salò-with its villas the its walk-and continue towards Maderno and Gardone Riviera (where you can visit the “Vittoriale degli Italiani”, historic home of Gabriele D’Annunzio).
The boat takes you in a few minutes from Desenzano to the ports of Maderno, Limone, Riva del Garda (Trentino), Malcesine and Torri del Benaco (Veneto) allowing the tourist to see and experience Lake Garda from different perspectives.
With a day excursion, from Malcesine you can take the cable car to climb Monte Baldo from where, besides the beautiful glance on the lake, you can observe-or practice-the spectacular launches with paragliding.
A few kilometers from Desenzano you can visit San Martino della Battaglia, historical Risorgimento location, and climb the spectacular observation tower.
